The pleasure of holding a forged steel blade!
The Le Tranchet knife with a "forged raw" finish is a table knife shaped like a bare, unpolished forged steel blade for true connoisseurs of authentic objects with character. Hand-forged from a bar of XC75 carbon steel, the blade is blackened as it emerges from the forge fire, bearing the surface marks of the hammer blows. This finish adds texture to the blade, preventing food from sticking.
While not stainless, this blade is highly resistant to corrosion and will develop the patina of a truly unique object.
Inspired by the traditional tool of leatherworkers, this knife has a single-edged blade (sharpened on only one side, leaving the other flat). It allows for precise, easy cutting that doesn't crush food by minimizing resistance, much like the famous Japanese knives (Yanagiba, Deba).
This unique piece is presented in a specially designed leather sheath to highlight its "forged" appearance, making it both original and the perfect gift.

The leathers used are washable with lukewarm water and soap. You can also wax them with a colorless wax or coat them with ox's foot oil used in saddlery.

Soak the suspenders in a sink or basin filled with cold water, one cup of white alcoholic vinegar and one cup of coarse salt.
Leave to drain for one or two hours.
Rinse off with cold water.
Return to soak, but this time only in water, nothing.
Apply Sommières earth to the stain. It is a natural and very absorbent clay.
